monkey business

My mom got me sock monkey socks for Christmas. Such a happy present! Attempt one brought us this little guy, who went to my husband. Jared often feels left out because I rarely craft anything for him, which is true - I just don't think he would want most of the stuff I make!

He likes the sock monkey though. As I was leaving for work yesterday morning, I caught him snuggled up to it asleep, which just about melted my heart.

It is no wonder why I love this guy.

I just made a sock monkey this Christmas, too, but out of old Adidas socks. I must say yours is much cuter--mine looks like a mutated monkey-cow. Nice work! By the way, I am amazed at how Martha Stewart-y you are. Wow, if only I were as creative and talented.

Little Jared!! Nothing has ever been sweeter than that picture! He looks 7 and 27 at the same time. I like.

This is the first glimpse I've ever had of your husband. I'm glad...I wasn't sure he really existed! Apparently, he is real, and sweet ta boot!

Do you know of any tutorials on how to make a sock monkey? I think my husband would get a kick out of one as a V-day present.

I use a sock monkey pattern out of a book called Sock and Glove. This is a GREAT book, with patterns for a dozen or so sock animals, and I think it is only $12.

This made me smile. I think he just likes it cause it's from you. And, oh my gosh!! We have this EXACT same kinda blanket! Same pattern, colors and everything!
