Love it, Jill! What did you use for the tie material? An actual tie?
hello there! i have never left a comment before but i frequent your blog often. I am just venturing into the wonderful world of sewing :) and made my first taggie blanket and also a knock off of the "secure 2 me " blankets that clip onto your stroller (see archives 2/27/08 on my blog). I LOVE the necktie shirt. I wanted to buy one..I saw them on etsy. com but thought i might try to make my own. i hope mine turns out as well as yours did. we will see. ps. if you visit my blog note it is not a crafty website its all about my son. :) -lindsey (p.s. sorry for the LONG comment :) )
Cute, Jill. I also have wanted to make some of these. I have been really sick lately - like half the country so I haven't been able to do anything. Hopefully, I will be better soon.
Too cute! This made me laugh!! Somebody bought my son an outfit when he was itty bitty that looked like a corporate shirt and had a tie. Every time he wore it, he looked uncomfortable. BUT THIS - this looks SOOO comfortable!! Definitely a winner!
Adorable! And so easy... did you fuse the fabric first?
Love it Jill. Wish I had one of these for my boys back in the day.
oh my goodness! how darling!
That is so awesome!
I AM GOING TO MAKE SOME OF THESE. DID YOU USE OLD TIES FOR THE APPLIQUE?I JUST LOVE THIS.
Hi all,I did not use old ties - just a striped cotton fabric from Moda.I used wonder under to adhere the applique before zigzag stitching around the edges.
I love this idea so much! Why can't any of my friends create boys so I can make one of these?
Very clever AND very cute! It's about time someone came up with something cute for boys!
That is so cute! My sister is expecting and I will have to try this out if it's a boy. Super cute!
so cute! do I need a special machine for this, or could my Singer Futura (ca 1967) handle the project? :)
what a handsome addition to any little man's wardrobe!
Love it!So cute!!!!!!:)
This shirt is adorable!Wish my boys were younger.
i agree, with four boys out of five kids, by boys could have used some cuter every day clothes, and this would have been used often, maybe even for some of the weddings or church events we have been to.:-) fun, comfortable, and handsome. can't beat it. thank you for the idea...
This is cute, wish I had any clue how to do it. If you have a site or something where I can find information on how to do something like this, that would rock! Thank you.
Jill, you are so clever and this is just about the cutest thing I have seen, what a great idea!!
Very cute! I never think of making these things myself!
Thought you might also find this idea cute:http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10109370
I've been lurking for a while, but now I just have to tell you that I love your blog. I have about a million friends who are expecting this year, and whoever ends up with a boy is definitely going to get one of these!By the way, I've spent most of my weekend making a ton of burp cloths from your template for the same friends. Thanks for the tutorial for those! They're easy, fun, and they've all turned out really cute!
SO ADORABLE! I love your blog. You always have such fantastic ideas!~Amy :-)
This is so cute Jill. Did you use a regular zig-zag stitch or did you use a special stretch stitch? I adorned onesies once with stitching on the hems of the sleeves and leg holes. I found I had to use stretchable stitches for the knit fabric.
I just wanted to say thank you for your diaper cake post. I found it through google and used your instructions to make the most wonderful cake. I can't post a blog on it yet since its a gift for one of my readers, but I really appreciated your instructions and used them exactly to create my own diaper cake for my sister. Thanks again!
Love the onesie. I found your blog from the momma sassy blog. Would you make one for sale? This is really cute! ashlea email@example.com
these are adorable! when/if i have a little boy, he is definitely wearing this to church. EVERY sunday.
Thanks for the sweet comment about my diaper cake... someone had made one for my shower (though it wasn't NEARLY as cute as the one you made) so I had to try it out too. Between your directions and having taken one apart, it was really easy to make! BTW, I love your blog...
seriously soo cute!! I might have to try that for my baby boy :)
Great!!! So cute!!! She's so lucky!
I love your ideas, and now I've tagged you. I hope you don't mind!http://sixgoldencoins.blogspot.com/2008/04/ive-been-tagged_28.html
I love your crafts and blog!
It's so cute!
I must have one of these!!!! This is just so cute and creative! Will you make me one?
