Let's go in reverse order - I am quite smitten with my latest sewing project, the Black Apple Doll.
I just might make 50 of them. The creator, Emily Martin, was featured on the Martha Stewart Show a couple months back and generously provided her doll pattern for Martha's website. Don't want to make it yourself? You can buy them in Emily's super popular Etsy Shop.
I made a few mistakes the first go round, so she's not perfect, but I like to think that just adds character. Also, I deviated slightly from the tutorial and embroidered her face instead of using fabric paint.

What do you think? Does every little girl in my family need one? Do I need 5 just for me?

yea! you're back! don't get me wrong, the necktie onesie is super cute...but it's always so fun to see where your next craft adventure takes you.
She's precious! And I think that embroidering the face is WAY more special than fabric paint! Good for you!
Your projects make me REALLY wish I had a sewing machine, because this doll is adorable! Too bad I don't have any daughters to make one for, but I have plenty of nieces!
I LOVE this little doll! My daughter has recently become fascinated with dolls. This may be a birthday gift for her...
I enjoy viewing your newest creation because it's making me want to try some of your projects - especially this cutie - I could just see my little ruth dragging her around with her everywhere.
Hi Jill - I'm new to your blog and just want to say that your dolly is way sweeter than the ones I saw through the links... I like the cute mary janes you gave her. And totally off topic--The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favorite books, too!
I love her. I will make one of her. You will help me.
So glad to see you back! I love the doll. She's Adorable!
Jill,

Darling! I love the shoes you made on her!
Very cute doll I'd like to make one like that as a present, because my daughter loves dolls and what a best opportunity that making a doll with my own hands.
