Isn't it gorgeous?!
I hope baby likes the view. I know it's just a tree, but it is pretty beautiful compared to the dark alley view most of our other windows provide.
Because my mom's so smart, having done this whole having-a-baby thing 8 times herself (I'm telling you - she's wonder woman!), the liner and mattress pads are all washable. Bless her heart for making two so I have a backup while doing laundry.
Last, but not least, a cozy matching quilt. Thanks, mom! You really are an inspiration.p.s. to all of you who will inevitably ask, no, she does not sell her baskets. Sorry to make you so jealous. :)
UPDATE: Many of you asked about the fabric. The designer is Wendy Slotboom, and it is called XOXO The Cat, part of her "In the Beginning" fabric line. I saw it last night at The City Quilter in Manhattan, and it looks like it is readily available online. Just do a google search. :)

Truly beautiful!
That is a very sweet basket. Your mom is amazing!
Wow, I'm jealous and I don't even need one.
I seriously need to know where that fabric came from though! Please tell me I can order it online!
absolutely darling! I am inspired to go and cut fabric now...
Oh my gosh your mother is AMAZING! It's so chic I love it! THe fabrics are just to die for! Great job!!!
That is so cute. Your mom is most talented! Wow! You are a lucky daughter, and that baby is lucky to have a crafty mom and grandmom!
Stunning! What a beautiful gift!!! That was so nice of your mom!!!
Wow that is amazing. What talent!
that is so cute.. and where did she get that fabric?!?! I love it!!
what a blessing! That was such a thoughtful gift. I now know where you got all your crafty skills!
That is amazing! Major props to your mom!! I love the fabric!
she may not sell them, but does she mind telling where she got the directions or putting some together for all your fabulous readers?
also, what are the dimensions? how big is it?
An instant family heirloom! I see where you get your talent from. Will there be 7 more pregnancies in your future?
that's fantastic! very cute matching quilt, too! the baby will love it!
It's adorable! My Moses basket sits on the very same coffee table, btw. It's been wonderful for my infant to sleep in when I'm downstairs and want her nearby.
it's beautiful! I love the quilt too
So sweet...and I LOVE the matching quilt. After just having my 4th boy...just make sure you have a cloth diaper to throw over the "sprinkler system" if you change a diaper here, so the beautiful liner doesn't need laundered also! Happy baby times!
It's lovely, and the fabric she chose is awesome!
Oh wow. That is just beautiful! I took basketweaving at BYU (no, really, I did and it was a hard class - I only got a B+) and so I know how much work went into that gorgeous basket!
Your mom is amazing! I love it! And the fabric is great, too!
I'm sorry...did you say she made the basket, too? What an amazing heirloom she's given you!
I didn't know there was a basketweaving class at BYU - I totally would have taken it! My mom took a series of classes from a local basketweaver in St. Louis. By the time she had taken all the classes, she and the instructor had become good friends. My mom became her assistant and cut reeds and put together kits for classes. Now she knows how to make just about any basket you can dream up!
I emailed her about the fabric, and she said she'd check the selvedge for me.
I'm not home to measure it, but I believe it is 40 inches long and approximately 17 inches wide. Nice and big!
to Denise ... not if my husband has anything to say about it! I've always wanted a large family though. We'll start with one and see how it goes.
That is so beautiful! I received a moses basket and I used it all the time. I hope you enjoy it :)
Way to go Jill's Mom! It's all amazing and beautiful. I absolutely LOVE the fabric she chose. What a talented family!!
wow, wow, wow!!! That's amazing! Basket and ALL?! I see where you get your talent!
oh my goodness! That is so nice, lucky you to have a mom like that!
Your mom is so talented - I see where you get it! And 8 kids? She is nearly a saint!
I've been a "lurker" on your blog for a while now but I just had to leave a comment.
Well now I know where you get your craftyness from. That basket is great and I love the fabric, so cute!
WOW..how beautiful. Anything homemade is so nice and especially from Grandma to the new baby.GO GRANDMA.
What fabric did she use?? I would love to get some. It is almost as cute as your monkey quilt!
Yes! BYU does have basketweaving! (The graduate level is underwater - haha) It is an Art R class and so you can take it three times for credit. I took it one semester when I needed 12 credits for my Pell Grant but was completely overwhelmed with kids, husband in school, other classes, and being a TA. I loved it! I stalk your blog, but mine is private. If you'd like an invite, email me at tifani@jkhathaway dot org. Love your stuff!
Beautiful!
This is amazing!! Your mom has a wonderful talent. You are very lucky to have someone (other than yourself of course) who is so crafty, around.
I absolutely love that quilt!
What a beautiful quilted basket! I bet that your babe will love it! Now we know where you get your craftiness from!

Dear Jill-s Mom, love your precious Moses basket, the fact that you had so many children yourself, and that you are spreadin love to JIll-s little man even before you meet him in person... So beautiful!! thank you for letting us be a small part of your lives. Jill, praying for you as these days draw a close to your pregnancy but open a new life as an actively practicing parent. Thinking of you...
I would like to order one.
One Jill's Mom to go, please.
Amazing!
Hi,
I would like to know, what your mom made the mattress with,
thanks,
Marie - I believe she used 2 or 3 layers of thick quilt batting for the mattress.
Thanks for the info
