fabric easter buckets

Happy almost-Easter! I came across this adorable basket on Distressed last weekend and had to make a few myself.

Using the fabric bucket tutorial on Vintage Ric Rac as my guide, I made a bunny and a chick. Two changes I made to her instructions: my buckets are 8 1/2 inches tall (instead of 5 1/2 in) and I added two 10 inch handles. (Oh, and the other obvious change being faces, ears, wings, etc).

Need more inspiration/step-by-step tutorials? Check out the fabric baskets at Create Studio or Pink Penguin.

If I have a working sewing machine by next Easter I am SO gonna make these for my kids! Way better than cheap store buckets!

I'd like to try this. I'm new at sewing so I'm a little confused as to how to sew the circle on the bottom. Any pointers??

I tried them out...not near as good as yours...my rabbit looks a bit like a cat. i didn't have the right interfacing and my ears were way to short..but it was 3 am and i wasn't really thinking/seeing clearly! haha http://arewardfromhim.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-basket.html
