Now that we are in suburbia and drive a car (bleh), Oscar spends a lot more time in his car seat. The straps leave angry red marks on his neck, so I used Ashley's seat belt cover tutorial to make these:
Ahh, much better. So my point is, check out Make It and Love It. Great stuff. The measurements in Make It and Love It's tutorial are for a jogging stroller. If you are making yours for car seat straps, consider making them short, or adding button holes like I did.

I would NEVER delete you! I have made too many awesome things from this blog!!!
How could we delete your blog when you post photos of those AMAZING baby blues! Precious, precious, precious.
Awesome! I really need to make seatbelt covers for my son...I'll get on that.
I love your balance between giveaways and not. I think this is still a wonderful craft/personal blog and the giveaways you do are so obviously something that you would/do use or really like....
can't wait to see what you have lined up next!!
Where did you get that adorable hat!!
Sure, I came here for the crafts, but the giveaways are totally a happy bonus! Of course you will not be deleted. Keep up the great work!

I just recently found your blog and I love it. I want to make everything. I am a mom of twin one year old and a 3 year old and I also have a business from home (which by the way you should check out on the side of my family blog) ;) But I just don't always have the time to make stuff so I love giveaway so I have the opportunity to get the stuff. Keep them up cuz i'll enter them forsure, the less entries the better chances for me to win!! ;) This is a really long comment...
LOVE the giviaways! So excited about the upcoming chances to win!
I also love the crafts too so, no worries... I'm stickin' around!
I too am a big fan of Make it and Love it. And I love giveaways- so keep em coming! And I love your crafts... so those are great too.
And those big blue eyes of his are sooo adorable! wow!
Wow, I didn't know people disliked giveaways. I love your blog and "Make it and Love it" as well, and I plan to read both whether you run giveaways or not!
You are by far one of my favorite blogs to read. Love you crafts and your give aways....don't worry about me not reading...oh and don't tell my friends that you are my fav blog to read...LOL
Thanks for the link - I'm on my way to check ut out!
Make It and Love It is a great site - I made her tutu for my toddler and it's a big hit. Sometimes she wears it as a hat, not a skirt, but what do I care as long as she's wearing it?!
And I'm totally against cute, useful, hand-made-better-than-I-ever-could, FREE products.
Wait, that's ridiculous. Seriously, who doesn't love giveaways??
I'm with amber who could not love a giveaway? anyway I did start coming to your blog for the craft inspriation! But for reals I'm another vote for giveaways!
Oh wait, I forgot to add: giveaways do annoy me occassionally when you have to go to another site to look at stuff in order to enter, then post and blog and link and tweet and bend over and touch your toes in order to enter some more times. Just ask me to leave a random comment in order to enter, and post a link, and if people like the products, they will click through to the creator's web site, and everyone will get the traffic they crave. I think. If it doesn't work and people stop giving you stuff to give away, I claim ignorance. :)
Regardless, I love your site and stop by almost daily to marvel at your creative genius!
I love Make it and Love it. And I love giveaways. In fact, I was thinking a giveaway for some more cloth baby shoes would be good about now. (I'm due at the end of August!) :)
I love your stuff and have made many of the things you posted--monster hoodies, the memory game, the onesie cookies. (I do give you credit for original ideas.) Next up, felt food!
Thanks for all the creativity. I won't be deleting you any time soon!
I just thought you might like to know that those covers are super cute but not safe. The clip should be over their chest not stomach. You child could be severely injured in a car wreck if he isn't put into his car seat correctly.
I would like to email you directly, what is your email? or you can email me at brenbren13@ymail.com
Jill! I love Oscar's hat!!! Did you crochet that? If so, can you post the pattern or send it to my e-mail at rroddick@hotmail.com?
Crocheting can definately try your patience when learning to keep good tension, but I'm not opposed to the idea on your blog.
Don't stop the giveaways! I personally ranked them pretty low not because they aren't flippin' aweseome (because they are!), but because your blog rocks with or without them!
Jill, I love your blog and there's no way I'll be deleting it.
I think the people who said they didn't like giveaways are just plain lyin'. Or else 300+ comments just magically appeared on your last giveaway :)
I love crochet, please don't take it away!
Hi! I chose other in the what I would like to see. You posted some VERY CUTE hats that look like animals. I would love to know how you did it or a book your could suggest. I have looked all around and I am having no luck.
Thank you so much for the great ideas. I have just started my quiet book!
Just a quick note - I'm one of those who isn't in to the give aways, but they certainly wouldn't make me stop reading. If you're having fun with them, go for it.
I missed the poll but my vote is that giveaways are so cool! I love 'em. Even if I've never won one. :) This is your blog, do what makes you happy.
I'd never have guessed people would not like giveaways! I love your blog, Jill. I can't even remember what sort of giveaways you had but I sure remember the lovely things you made.
I don't mind the giveaways, I just dislike it when it starts to become more frequent than the crafty posts. I also love tha Make it and Love it blog and have made several items she's had posted as well (like the hair clip holder frame, and the dry erase board, she's awesome!)
P.S. I voted for crochet as I love it and was amazed at the poor votes it got!
I won't take you off my list!
I love your stuff and the chance to win fun goodies.P.S. great save on the car seat straps. I'm glad there are people out there that notice things. Oscar is Beautiful keep the pictures coming.
I love the giveaways, as long as they don't take over. I think you are so creative and talented, I would hate to miss out on all your ideas, just because you love us so much! Keep posting!
Love the idea of the teething ring! I'm making one this weekend for sure!!
I love your blog and your giveaways are awesome too, who doesn't like giveaways?
Keep up the good work!
Why would anyone hate giveaways? No bother to me, even though i only do them half the time. I would never delete ur blog i love it too much!!
Ouch! That hurt my ears to think I might delete you from my blog reader! Except that I don't use a blog reader, but I still check you faithfully twice a week. I also never actually DO any of the crafts that you do, but I certainly do love coming here for inspiration and motivation, nonetheless.
I wanted to make the rose/flower earring that you posted a while ago, so I ordered the things and turns out that I ordered the flowers WAY too big! Yikes! Can you let me know how big to order the flowers? I have tried to contact the etsy gal, but with no luck. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR AWESOME CRAFTIES!!!
Man, seriously who doesn't love a giveaway?? I have seen people on other blogs commenting like crazy for something so small as a thing of lip balm! It's a happy perk to see them, but I would still come here and read regardless xx
Can't believe how big Oscar has gotten. whoa!
I won't delete you, but maybe I could pimp you? That is, pimp your services? You make lots of fun baby things but I am not a sewer nor do I have a sewing machine. Do you take orders and/or have an Etsy shop that I am unaware of?
I think give-aways are great! Even better if I happen to win them! :)
Keep 'em coming...
I really like the idea of putting the large button holes in your strap covers. My kids clips always seem to slip down, and that seem like it would hold it up. Awesomeness!
Maybe i'm weird, but i LOVE giveaways and Crotcheting. YOur blog is my all time fave- so keep on rocking :)
I love your blog, giveaways or not.
I did not read all the comments but I wanted to say that it is awesome that your baby is rearfacing but when they are rearfacing the harness needs to be in the slots BELOW or AT shoulder level and they look above in the pic.
I love your stuff... except for these. Britax (and all carseat manufacturers) don't allow the adding of aftermarket products.... it essentially turnes your baby into a crash test dummy.
