the boy who crafted

I hope you are all planning to see Harry Potter today (if you have not already). I made Oscar some felt Harry Potter glasses in celebration ... and if you cannot tell from the photo, they are wildly unpopular.

You can find lots of fun Harry Potter crafts here (I especially like the wands).

I'm not the type to dress in costume to go see a movie, but I did go to a Deathly Hallows release party as Hagrid a few years ago. All my friends were dressed up too, and people barely batted an eye at our group down in the subway. And that's why I loved NYC.

That is so cool! I've never dressed up to go see HP but I want to!

I just have to say that your Hagrid costume was really fantastic. I consider myself a Harry Potter fanatic, but covering half of your face in a big bushy beard, that is the truest of devotions.
I love your blog, thanks for all the great ideas!

I am so bummed! I don't know if I will be able to see the movie in the theater or not considering I have a newborn. It just won't be the same not seeing it in the theater.

Great Hagrid!! I dressed up as a random Hogwarts professor at the Library where I work a few years ago for one of the HP book releases. Colm Feore (who lives in my town) was in the Library and said I looked more like Harry Potter - I was kinda insulted - was he insinuating that I looked like a boy?? :)

My husband has GOT to see this post of yours...he LOVES Harry Potter! Too creative on the glasses for Oscar and the Harig costume...I like how you "beefed" up for the part and how Harig drinks from a tumbler!!

Nice glasses! Now I want to see a baby Hagrid costume. BTW, is that a Hogwarts ice sculpture?
