Right click on each image to save, and then print them as a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. You'll need to print two copies of the end piece and one copy of the middle, cut them out, and tape them together to form a full-sized template. It will look like this:
The assembled template should measure about 19 inches long and 9 inches wide (the burp cloths will shrink in the wash if you don't pre-wash your flannel, which I never do). The trick to getting a correctly sized template seems to be to right click on the template image, and save it to your computer. Then, open it up as an image file and print as a full page image.
I used a four-pack of Carter's flannel receiving blankets to make this coordinating baby set for a friend. I was able to make 8 burp cloths, a drool bib, and a set of 3 soft blocks and still have some fabric left over.
I didn't use a pattern for my blocks (all you need are six equal squares of fabric and a little geometric know how), but I guarantee you can find a tutorial using your BFF, google.

Nope - not for the batting. To make a full-sized template, you need to tape together three pieces: and end piece, the middle piece, and the other end piece. Put all together, it will give you the peanut shaped template for the burp cloth. It is too large to fit a whole half onto one sheet of paper.

So cute! I just found your blog and love it. I sat up all last night thinking of which projects I want to do first. I saw you want 'Your Baby can read'. I actually have it and the key is to make flashcards and show the word and then the coordinating object. It's not the movies that teaches them which is what you pay for. And yes, it works! Good luck

OOh, printable. You should have seen me when I first used the template, trying to trace my computer screen and then blow it up to size by eye-balling it. You would have had a good laugh. As in side-splitting laugh.

Awesome idea using the blankets.. I LOVE those fabrics.. I have been wanting to buy some material to make a rag quilt for a baby girl but haven't found anything cute like this.. maybe I will buy a bunch of those and make one! hehe

They are Carter's brand receiving blankets, so I'm guessing they are sold at many stores. I just did a search and found them online at Babies R Us. The pack is called "Floral Dot."

We have LOTS of receiving blankets for our little girl who is on the way (any day now, really). I was just wondering the other day if I really needed so many. Should I return a few packs? Or should I make something else with them? What a great solution! I may just try this!

Hurst, this message is for you. I had a hard time figuring out the pattern too, until my husband told me I needed to turn the middle piece the other direction. I was thinking that my computer was shrinking it down or something so it was out of proportion. But no, I'm just a dingbat. Thankfully, my husband isn't lol.
