spring church party

Every waking moment of the past week was spent getting ready for an event celebrating the anniversary of the organization of the women's group at my church.  The party was last night and was a huge success!  I could not have pulled it off without my excellent chefs, Lorrie and Cari, and my expert pom pom helper, Nancy.

I think I'll spend the rest of the weekend sleeping.

I wish I had half of your energy! I am 19 weeks pregnant...with my fourth...others are 6, 4, and 2...and I babysit 7-month-old twins...so I struggle to find the ambition to sew sometimes, which makes me sad because it's like therapy to me. :)

I love your blog and everything you create!

Jill, that is the most beautiful RS party I have ever seen! Absolutely lovely! And to echo another reader, I'd love to learn how to make those pom-poms....I'm sure there's a tutorial somewhere...

Wow, that turned out so beautiful. Our RS party was less festive but I am sure still as nice.
We are totally doing those pom-poms (I know you love Martha!) for my sister's baby shower... except in blue :) I keep imagining a baby shower like the one you threw for your friend at work (?) so long ago. That was awesome. But we will probably just have balloons and the few pom poms we get around to. I'm less of a party organizer and more of a partier. ;)

Hi! You dont know me but I started following your blog after seeing it through a friends blog. I love all of your cute craft ideas and will try some of them. I am in charge of the RS parties in our ward and your party turned out so adorable! Can you tell me how you made the grey table runners you used?

Maybe I should fly over to attend your RS enrichments...lol. Hey, I would bring something ;) Sooo beautiful!

I'll post details on the party decorations by Monday. In the meantime, you can find directions for the pom poms here:

http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/article/pom-poms-and-luminarias

I got the idea for the gray table runner from the Crafts Dept. blog, except I used a scalloped edge punch instead of fringing it:

And it is easy to make a photo collage like the one in this post using Picnik.com (the collage feature is located on the homepage).

Above. and. Beyond. We celebrated by singing "As Sisters In Zion" in church. Unpracticed. I know. Riveting.

I'm impressed, it all looks so beautiful! Don't know why, but I was happy to see that you're in Santa Barbara, I lived in Goleta for awhile and I miss it out there. Enjoy your beautiful weather in Sunny california!
