In other news, I inherited the crafty contents of my ward's Relief Society (the women's organization at my church) closet. Which means I have a big box of vintage supplies. Actual vintage, not "vintage." I'm so excited. More to come on that later.

What timing! I was actually heading to the store later to get supplies to make some too! I'm going to try both elastics and stretch lace. I have 2 girls (2 yo and 5 mo) so figure I'll try a variety and see what works best.

where do you get the actual headbands? the elastic you know... I don't dig those thick crochet head bands so much... I like the thin/subtle/delicate kind like the ones you showed!

The thicker headbands are made of Fold Over Elastic, which you should be able to find in the elastic/trim sections of most fabric stores. It comes in many colors and is great for baby headbands because it is so soft and stretchy.
The cream colored headbands are made out of plain old elastic, but it is different than the packaged kind. It was sold by the yard at my fabric store (for cheap - only 60 cents a yard) but it feels like a cotton elastic instead of polyester. It is also quite soft, and not as stiff of an elastic as the packaged kind.
If you are looking for good elastic, just go to your fabric store and feel them all. Chances are, if it is soft and stretchy, it will make a good headband. :)
OMG!! My Gpa (passed on) retired from Woolworth's YEARS ago. That is amazing. I have not seen that packaging in soooo many years.

As for the headbands, the brown one is made of Fold Over Elastic (find it in the trims section of your fabric store). It is very soft and stretchy, and makes great baby headbands.
