big butt baby pants for boys
It is high time I joined the sewing for boys fun this month, don't you think? Over the weekend I made four pairs of toddler-sized Big Butt Baby Pants - one for Oscar, and three for some of our best NYC pals.
I posted a few months ago how much I like this pattern (from Made by Rae), but I think I love it ten times more on a toddler. Oscar is a fan, too. Do you like his breakfast spot? He likes to perch high on a stool and eat his waffles on the dishwasher. We are the picture of safety over here.
I was even able to stretch the pattern to fit a slim 4-year old by adding several inches to the hemline. I cut the rest of the pattern to the normal 2T size and it is still a perfect fit.
Ok, this next pair is for a girl ... but the point is, this is a great pattern!
Also, I bought a box of gorgeous ranunculus this weekend to plant in our window boxes, despite the fact that I am a notorious plant-killer. Here's hoping I can remember to water them this go round!

i was just sewing a pair last night for my daughter who wears cloth diapers. i sucked at attaching the crotch part. i was disappointed.
did you topstitch the rear panel?
i did. maybe that made it more difficult for me.

ooh, MUST do this for my son! he's almost 4 and slim as well - only 2T pants fit him, but then they're too short! poor kid looks like he's wearing tidewaters all the time... thanks for the inspiration! :)
They are great! I love the look of the pattern - though the crotch bit is tricky! I usually have to do it twice. My DD is only 18 months and T2 in this pattern doesn't fit her properly even with a disposable. She's in T2 from regular shops so I"m not sure how that works? Im hoping that she stops growing so much soon!
Our sweet boy has been blessed with the juicy heiny of his papa :) so these pants are going to be perfect given that I have always had to buy a size up and then hem his pants. 17 months and in been wearing 24 month pants for 4 months! Can't wait to try these. Thanks to you and all of the wonderful crafty peeps out there who post awesome tutorials :)
must must must have big butt pants for my boy. I've had trouble with elastic in the past before I should practice again at least for these cool ones.
