Ruby likes to wear her heart on her onesie, and we are madly in love with Santa Barbara.
I used the ol' Silhouette to make these onesies with the Heat Transfer material. It is fantastic, and yes, it holds up well in the wash.
Coming up on the blog ... home dec projects. I've been working on artwork and new pillows and stuff. Fun!

Adorable!!! I want to make state shirts for all my little ones and nephews...
I heart Santa Barbara! If I have any more babies...I will need this onesie! So cute!!
I LOVE Santa Barbara too! Every time we drive into town I repeat that over and over all day:)
I know a little girl due to arrive in June that NEEDS a onesie like that;)
A cute onesie and a cute shirt...thanks for sharing! Never been to Santa Barbara but Don and I sure ~hearted~ San Diego!
These are adorable! I wonder if I could make some with a similar heat transfer material if I didn't have a silhouette. Just one more reason I need to save my pennies for one. By the way, I always love your posts. You inspire me.
These are really cute. I just bought some onesies and I can't wait to decorate them. Great job!
Love with a capitol "L" the California onesie!
Adorable!
Love these! For the owl one with 2 colors, did you heat transfer on the branch first and then do the owl and name 2nd?
I have only tried to do ones in 1 color before. Thanks for your post and help!
That owl is just too cute! I definately more heat transfer colors.
Emily - Yes, you can layer the heat transfer colors. I've only layered two at a time, but I don't see why you couldn't do more. The bond is really strong.
I thought I needed a Cricut.. I was wrong. I NEED a Silhouette. These are amazing.

Hi! I've been making shirts too - I've had some problems with the heat transfer coming up on the edges - any tips?
Hye dear,
I'm one of silent reader. Your blog full of creative and inspiration. @)---
TQ :D
To I'm Shannon -
Make sure your iron is not set too hot, or the heat transfer gets ruined. I use a very thin press-cloth (cotton jersey works well), and usually press it again after removing the plastic. Hope that helps!
Is there any sprays you can add to the iron-ons to make them stay better? I have a silhouette and made my niece 3 onesie and if you stretch them even a little the iron-ons got ruined. I tried making the owl onesie you made and unfortunately I didn't realize you should leave the backing on until the project is totally finished. I took off the backing of the branch and when I added the owl the branch stuck to my cloth and got ruined completely.
I just found your blog today. & love it. You are so prolific! I have only know about the Silhouette for about 2 weeks & am waiting for our taxes to be finished before I buy one, but your posts are making it really really hard to wait! Everything you make with it is fantastic!
My husband and I are trying to conceive and I LOVE the Santa Barbara onsie, ESPECIALLY because we live in Santa Barbara county!! Such an awesome project!
Hi! I love the owl onesie, just found this! Where can I get the owl, branch, and name silhouette? I have never done a project like this before.
Thx!
Just totally adorable!
Can I ask where you got your owl and branch from?
