Here's my latest project selection from the Oliver + S: Little Things to Sew book:
the bear carrier! I'm telling you, this book is gold when it comes to making handmade gifts for children. Every project is a big hit (I've also made several explorer vests and the red riding hood cape).
This carrier was for another one of Oscar's friends, but we tried it on his favorite bear to get the straps sized properly. He was ecstatic - hands free bear travel? Life doesn't get much better. "Let's try glow turtle next!" he says.
Can you imagine the tears when I had to package it up for the birthday party? Oh, man, was Oscar mad. I promised to make a special one just for him, which means Ruby will probably need one, too. My to-do list never stops growing.

I love your bear carrier! I had a similar experience when I made one. I asked my son to try it on for me so I could get the straps right, and he went from "No way, it's pink!" to "Can you make me one to carry Fat Kitty?" (his stuffed cat) in 2 seconds flat.
I`ve just recieve my oliver+s one! (I ordered it after read your awesome red riding hood cape entrie!) It looks fantastic! thanks for sharing!
Oh, how perfect is this!! That book is on my wish list for Christmas, but now I'm thinking I really need to make a few of those carriers for Christmas... what's a girl to do...
I love it! I made my little girls a doll carrier using my own measurements and they love it!! use it all the time:) Oscar is so cute! he looks so happy in the picture. I'm sure he didn't know that the carrier wasn't going to be his for long!
That is so darling! Oscar looks so happy wearing it in all the pictures. Looks like a hit for Christmas?
Yep pretty sure my daughter needs one of those. You are SO RIGHT, the to do list never stops growing. I don't think we'll ever reach the end of it in our lifetime! But it's so fun to see how much they love the stuff we make. He is stinkin' cute btw!
Adorable. Hopefully he won't try to stick his sister in it! Great work...as usual.
So cute! I need to put this on the project list...my daughter tries to get me to make a Moby Wrap out of just about anything for her baby doll.
Oh man, there are no words. Truly a great gift for girls and boys alike!
I don't sew well enough to desire doing it, but I'm starting to think I might need to order that book. I've got my own kiddo now, and I expect he'll be invited to birthday parties in the future...
I have a little boy who just turned three also. Any time he sees me making anything, he asks, "Is that for me?"
Such a cute carrier.
I want to buy this book a little more each time you post a project from there!
