dolly stocking stuffer

So once there was this birthday party we were going to, and I thought, hey!  I'll make something.  But things got busy (as they are wont to do) and I didn't make the present.  So I thought, don't worry, self!  Just go to the store in the morning and buy something.  Well, in the morning it was pouring rain, and I don't like when my feet get wet.  So two hours before the party, I made this little doll:

I even made a hot breakfast for my kids in the middle of that time, so it actually took less than two hours.

The point of this post is that Black Apple dolls are super cute, super fast to make, and would make an awesome stocking stuffer.  One year I made seven.  There is even a free pattern!  Add extra seam allowance to the arms and legs, or turning them out will drive you bonkers.

The end.  Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the tip about the seam allowance for the limbs. I've had the pattern pieces printed out for a couple of weeks now, just waiting for me to get around to it...sometime before Christmas hopefully (-:

That's fab and can't believe you made it so quickly! Think I may have to make these for my daughter and niece for Christmas.

Very Cute! What kind of fabric is the skin made from? Flannel or cotton? Also, how did you do the pigtails, just added a little piece on each side?

Have you ever washed these dolls? Do you think they would make it through on a delicate cycle?

I love it! Adorable! So I printed the pattern out thinking I would make one for Natalie for Christmas but never got around to it. Thanks for the extra seam allowance tip. I looked at the pattern and wondered about that! :)

Thanks for all the lovely comments! I forgot how much I enjoyed sewing these little bitty ones. I really need to work on them more often. Maybe a stocking stuffer upload would be fun. If you have been interested just click essayswriters.org. :)
